Punch List & Jobsite Photo App for Small Contractors

By Thalorix Labs, the maker of TRACLEX

A good punch list app lets you shoot a problem, mark it up, tag it and hand someone a clean PDF — fast, with or without signal. For one person it doesn’t have to be a subscription: my app, TRACLEX, is free to start and Pro is $9.99 once. It’s coming soon to the App Store for iPhone.

What should a punch list app do?

Turn what you see on a walk-through into a list someone else can act on: a fast camera, markup on the photo, a note, tags for the trade and location, a status on every item, and a PDF you can send.

  • Open to the camera — log the problem while it’s in front of you.
  • Markup right on the photo, so anyone can see exactly where and what.
  • A typed or spoken note, plus tags for the trade and the location.
  • A status on every item: still open, fixed, and fixed with an after-photo as proof.
  • Work with no signal — basements and steel buildings often have none.
  • A clean PDF that an owner, a sub or your own crew can read.

That’s the loop I built TRACLEX around: open, camera, capture, describe, submit — and you’re back on the camera.

Do I need a subscription for a punch list app?

Not for one person working alone. TRACLEX is free to start — 2 projects, unlimited photos, 3 PDF exports — and Pro is $9.99 one time, tied to your Apple ID. No subscription for the app itself.

Team and subcontractor plans are planned, for when a crew or your subs need to work off the same live list. They’ll be monthly, prices may change, and they aren’t available yet.

Does it work offline?

It should — jobsites lose signal all the time. TRACLEX works with zero signal: there’s no login and no account, and everything you shoot is saved on your phone, so nothing waits on an upload.

Can I export a punch list as a PDF?

Yes. TRACLEX builds the PDF for you — Letter (4 photos a page) or 11×17 (8 a page), grouped by date or by division — and you can share it, preview it or save it to Files.

Free includes 3 PDF exports (lifetime). Pro makes exports unlimited, puts your logo and contact block on every page, and carries Before/After pairs into the report.

Where are my jobsite photos stored?

On your phone. TRACLEX has no login and no account, and nothing gets uploaded behind your back. You can lock the app with a passcode and Face ID or Touch ID on the free tier too.

Because everything lives on that one phone, export a PDF when a list is done and save it or send it somewhere, so the record isn’t in only one place.

Who is TRACLEX for — and who needs a bigger platform?

TRACLEX is for the person walking the job — PMs and supers, foremen and trades, small GCs and solo contractors — who needs organized photo proof and a clean punch list. If your crew or subs need one shared, live list today, or the office needs drawings, RFIs and schedules in one online system, you want a bigger construction-management platform.

TRACLEX is built by a guy who actually walks jobsites — me. It does one job: the walk-through, the punch list and the proof.
